I never realized how much Google has to offer. There are so many tools that bring together all aspects of the internet into one organized location. I have always wondered what the little orange box in the corner meant when I went onto a website and I cannot believe how much it does. Google has truly revolutionized the internet and the speed of information. There are so many ways the Google docs can be used in the classroom. In terms of the teacher, it is a place with fresh ideas from teachers all over the world. The days of having to come up with activities on your own are gone and teachers are more than willing to help each other. Students can use the drawing tool or the application itself to create and store projects. Google is a place where documents can be saved and remain there until the user deletes them. There are always technical issues, but this concept could help eliminate some of the issues with losing documents and computer malfunctions. Overall, Google puts everything in one place for easy access from any computer.

Another tool I really liked was Dipity.com. The concept of having student create a timeline in which the teacher can read everything is a great concept. There are so many times that students turn in projects and they are illegible and so unorganized that the teacher does not know where to start. This website can be used for any projects in any subjects. Social studies, science, geography, language, etc. Students can create a timeline of presidents, the history of a state or nation, or tell their personal story through a creative timeline. Teachers can also use this website for classroom projects that incorporate all students. For example, reading contests, or a 'getting to know your classmates' projects. The bottom line is that the internet is creating new and more efficient ways for creating projects and getting tasks done. Both students and teachers can benefit from the advances o technology.
