Within this class, I have quickly realized that there are an almost infinite amount of online tools that could be used in the classroom. With all the options that this possesses, one could hardly characterize this as a bad thing. However, I worry sometimes about the problem of "too much." With every new tool, every student must develop a new identity and password as well as find out how they may use this tool. Students are tech-savvy-- typically-- and often do not need much time to figure these out. But why cause more complications? Though it is a simple, Google proves to be one of the best tools for educators.
Though it does not have many of the additives of other sites, it is incredibly accessible. Most students will already have a username for Google. With cloud technology, students' work can easily be shared among the students or with the teacher. Even in the case of small groups, students may easily share and work on one project.
Wikis, blogs, documents, drawings, etc are all available with Google Docs. As well, reader and other organization tools exist. Though the different components may not all exist on one page, its accessibility and options makes it the best options for teachers that will use technology for a wide variety of uses within the classroom.
